Children's Ministry

At SBC we take seriously our responsibility to disciple the children in our church family and to reach out to children in the community. Although we assert that it is the parents’ responsibility to make the home the main environment for the transmission of faith, as a church, we want to assist families in that process.

Sunday School and Junior Church provide consistent weekly biblical training at age appropriate levels.  A team of faithful servants leads Kids Club for neighbourhood kids from Junior Kindergarten to Grade six.  Other annual programs, such as Vacation Bible School and March Break Special are specifically outreach events to present the Gospel and make contact with families in our area.

Those who volunteer to work with children are screened, trained according to our Child Safe policies. Other training and orientation is conducted for their particular ministry.  We also have a Pick Up Policy in place for the safety of all children attending our programs.

Nursery is available for infants and preschoolers for all Sunday services.

Sunday School is available for all ages Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:20.

Junior Church is available for children age 4 to grade 4.  Children are dismissed during the 10:30am Sunday worship service.

Kids Club is available for JK to Grade 6 children (from Springfield Public School and the community).  The program takes place at the public school Thursday afternoons from 3:25 to 4:45.

Vacation Bible School is available for children who have completed JK through Grade 8.  It is a half day program offered the first full week of August, beginning on Civic Holiday Monday.  Registration links can be found on the church calendar.

March Break Special is available for children JK to Grade 6.  It is a one day, half day program offered during March Break.
